Saturday June 10, 2017 Hudson IL (8mi north of Normal IL): The McLean County Wheelers will be hosting their 36th Annual Spring Metric —Wheelin’ Around the Lake. Sunday June 18, 2017 River Bend Forest Preserve, Mahomet, IL Apple Pie Ride Father’s Day. 30–35 miles along the Sangamon River for longer distance riders, and a family route of ~10 miles. Saturday August 5, 2017 Urbana IL Inaugural Ray Spooner Memorial Ride, an ALS/MDA Benefit. Ride options: 13, 35, 65, 100, and 125 miles. Ray Spooner (husband, father, grandfather, midwife, cycling enthusiast and fundraiser) after being diagnosed with ALS in December 2014, he decided to bicycle across the United States as a way to raise awareness and funds to find a cure for ALS. Saturday Aug 26, 2017 Morton, IL The No Baloney Ride, an annual one-day bicycle tour sponsored by the Illinois Valley Wheelm’n of Peoria. Distance options of 8 (family fun ride), 25, 50, 62 or 100 miles. More information

Sunday September 10, 2017 Springfield IL: Capital City Century. Distance options are 10 (group ride) 25, 40, 62 and 100 miles over flat to slightly rolling terrain. The CCC features organized food stops, SAG service, and a post-ride party at the Beach House on Lake Springfield. The 2011 ride had 866 participants.

Saturday September 16, 2017 Arthur IL Amish Country Bicycle Tour, sponsored by Decatur Bicycle Club. Distance options: 20, 42 and 60 miles, mostly over flat to rolling terrain, perfect for all bicycle types and all riders.

Sunday, September 24th, 2017 Decatur IL 4th Annual Prairie Pedal sponsored by Macon County Conservation Foundation. Proceeds from the ride benefit the protection of our air and water quality, natural areas, and wildlife diversity. Three routes on quiet country roads: 20, 40, and 62 mile. The registration fee includes fully stocked rest stops, SAG support, a t-shirt, and an after party with lunch and entertainment. The ride starts at Rock Springs Conservation Area in Decatur, Illinois 3939 Nearing Lane.

Saturday September 30, 2017 River to Rail Ride, a benefit for the Kickapoo Rail Trail. Choose a ride of 15, 32, or 67 miles over lightly traveled, flat to gently rolling country roads near the Champaign-Urbana community. Registration fee benefits the soon-to-be constructed Kickapoo Rail Trail. Post-ride lunch will be served. More information and registration form
