Prairie Cycle Club – Bicycle Club for Champaign County, Illinois

The Annual Wind Aided Ride is this Saturday, May 24th. The bus will leave promptly at 8:00 AM from Espresso Royale at Robeson Crossing in Champaign. The bus and trailer will be at Espresso by 7:30 AM to begin loading The cost is $22 per person. Checks can be made out to MAYC (Mahomet Area Youth Club). MAYC will provide the bus, trailer and driver.

Bring a blanket or sleeping bag to protect your bike in the trailer.

The weather is calling for a light east wind so we will be going to Indiana. We will start south of Crawfordsville, west of Roachdale (a typical Indiana name?). We will have maps to distribute on the bus. You can access the route info by computer at:

The route will go through several towns so convenience store stops should be available. Remember this is an unsupported ride. PLAN ACCORDINGLY. Have plenty of water and sunscreen. This will probably be our warmest day so far this year!

We anticipate that the ride will probably develop into 3 groups of real fast, fast and not as fast riders. We will try to identify a leader for each group to make sure that we do not leave anyone in Indiana. Passports will not be required for a one day stay.
